The award is given each year to “coaches who demonstrate sportsmanship, integrity and responsibility on and off the field.’’
Fans are invited to vote for the coach of their choice online at www.CoachoftheYear.com between Dec. 15 and Dec. 29. Fan votes constitute 20 percent of a coach’s final score. The winner will be named Jan. 6 in Los Angeles.
In addition to Ferentz, who was named Big Ten coach of the year for the third time, other finalists for the Football Bowl Subdivision award are Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech, Joe Paterno of Penn State, Mack Brown of Texas, Pete Carroll of USC, Al Golden of Temple, Gary Patterson of TCU, Nick Saban of Alabama, Dabo Swinney of Clemson and Brian Kelly of Cincinnati, who has been named the new coach at Notre Dame.
Angerer an all-American

Angerer, a senior from Bettendorf, was second in the Big Ten with 135 tackles, while Bulaga, a junior, was named the Big Ten offensive lineman of the year.
Also making the second team was defensive end Derrick Morgan of Georgia Tech, the team Iowa will play next month in the Fed Ex Orange Bowl.
